Product description
This recall involves certain MRV170 Mustang Survival Swiftwater Rescue Vests. The vests are made of black neoprene that provides 9lbs of inherent buoyancy and 16lbs of supplemental buoyancy via the CO2 inflation of an air bladder embedded into the vest.

For NEW product: Only vests with UPC 062533 143487 made in Canada or China are affected. The UPC label is affixed to the back of Mustang Survival hangtag on all new products. Vests with UPC 062533 143500 made in Canada or China has the new method of attachment and is not included in this recall.  See images 2 and 3 below.

For USED product without the Mustang Survival hangtag: Only vests without yellow stitching at the handle cord attachment are affected. The inflator pull handle must be unfastened from its keeper flap at the lower right front of the vest in order to check the sewing construction. See images 4 and 5 below.

Hazard identified
The pull handle may detach from the cord preventing the vest from inflating, posing a physical hazard.

As of January 11, 2019, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 5 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold
The recalled product was sold from January 2015 to November 2018.

Consumers should immediately stop using the vest and contact Mustang Survival to have the vest repaired.
