I for one try to read all the labels on the food I buy. The number one is the expiry date and the next is the ingredients. I am very particular about what I eat. Then I look if the GMO Free label is there if appropriate. Then I also make sure if it is Organic, again if it is appropriate. I also have tools on my phone to read the bar codes to find if the price indicated is right and if discount coupons are available. Yes a buying a product is hard, but just make a fun deal out of it. It is easier if you plan ahead what you buy and if it is a food or consumables, buy the least amount you can afford to have at home. Why you may ask. Yes, less of a chance of products expiring and less wastage.
But what we have FDA Consumer Safety Officer Armando Zamora explaining us "what to do if you think you may have a recalled product". There are many numbers and dates on the foods, drugs, cosmetics, and other products we use every day. Some help manufacturers track inventory, while others help retailers ensure quality. But when unsafe products must be removed from the market, these numbers and dates can also help identify them quickly.
