Withdrawal: Gluten-free oatmeal was withdrawn from sale due to the gluten found therein
Lidl has removed the sale of a batch of Belbake oat flour, which has been found to have gluten, even though the product is labeled gluten-free. The drawback is for the best before date 22.10.2019.
Gluten is harmful to people who are sensitive to gluten, such as celiac disease. For others, the product that is now returned is safe to use. The limit of gluten-free product is 20 mg / kg gluten and low gluten is defined as products with gluten 20 to 100 mg / kg. In Belbake oatmeal, gluten was found to be 50 mg / kg in Lidl's own control.
Lidl will ask its customers who have bought this oatmeal to be sensitive to gluten to return the products of that lot to the Lidl store where the price of the product will be refunded. Lidl regrets the extra effort for customers.
