Product description

This recall involves a Matco Tools brand wireless charger which is an inductive phone charger that is circular in shape. It measures approximately 3.9 inches in diameter and 0.4 inches in height. "MATCO TOOLS" and the Matco company logo are printed in the center of the charger.
The product was sold with a USB cable for insertion into a laptop or power adapter for an electrical outlet.
When the product is connected to the power source, certain wireless phones can be charged by placing the phone on top of the unit.

Hazard identified

The chargers can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
As of March 29, 2019, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 6 reports of overheating and 2 reports of burns to a consumer's fingers.

Number sold

Approximately 216 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 4,800 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The chargers were sold exclusively by Matco Tools mobile truck stores nationwide from November 2018 through January 2019.
